LEMI is pleased to announce:
The sixth annual
Shakespeare Showdown
May 28-30, 2009 location – Heber Valley Camp
Dear Shakespeare Conquest Mentors, Parents, or Students,
LEMI is excited to announce the fifth annual Shakespeare Showdown May 28-30 at Heber Valley Camp.
We had a wonderful time last year. One chaperone wrote,
Thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of the showdown.
It was such a powerful experience that I, for one, am still processing what I experienced and learned. If I had not seen with my own eyes what those kids accomplished, it would be hard to believe.
It was truly remarkable and inspiring. Your troop will come away wanting to go again next year.
What is the Shakespeare Showdown - The Shakespeare Showdown is a chance for troops to get together and show off. Each troop gets to perform their play. We also provide workshops and speakers to enhance their Shakespeare experience. Last year we had workshops on Elizabethan dance, stage compact, accents and more. This is a great opportunity for students to meet and share their love of Shakespeare.

Student packing list
• Pen and paper for note taking
• Sleeping bag (we will be in the mountains and it gets cold at night)
• Sleeping pad (unless they like the hard ground)
• Hygiene supplies like tooth paste soap and stuff like that (we don’t what to smell you)
• Enough cloths for four days and three nights
• A good sweater
• Semi-formal attire for the dance (nothing in modest or inappropriate or you will be asked to leave the dance)
• Good toe closed shoes there are a lot of rocks
• A water bottle (don’t want anybody to run out of spit to spray the audience with)
• Permission slip signed by parent or legal guardian (can’t come if you don’t have one)
Students will not be allowed to bring any electronic devices such as Ipods, game boys, CD players or the like, you may ask why and I will tell you frankly, items like this make one become reclusive and boring and we will have none of this.
