FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do the LEMI seminars replace the George Wythe College “Face
to Face with Greatness” seminars?

A: No they do not. We encourage our teachers, and parents, to attend the GWC seminars, extension courses, and participate in degree programs. We support GWC and their Liberal Arts mentors.

Q: Is it worth it? Implementing the principles of a Thomas Jefferson Education in our home?

A. Listen to people who have already applied what they learned from LEMI seminars share their answers:

Barrie Giles—“We read classics as a family. It has drawn me closer to my children. It is truly magical. The characters in their heads molds the way they think, it has deepened my relationship with my children. My children are starting to think!”

Sheree Gaughan—“I’ve always run up against roadblocks. Recently I read a classic that changed my life. It was just what I needed at the time. It opened my eyes, changing the fundamental ways I live my life. I am closer to God and to my husband. It was even more than that—we have something to teach our son now.”

Deena Ortiz—“I feel like I waste less time. I’ve seen an increase in productivity. I feel better about myself, how I’m progressing, my interests, and how I help myself and my family. I use my leisure time wisely.”

Ruth Coleman—“I can’t tell you what a spiritual experience it is to share the classics with my daughter.”

Q: What about state testing?

A: Listen to one of our teachers share her experience:

"Do you remember my nephew, Jacob Cron? Marine Sniper wannabe? Well, he had to take an entrance exam for the Marine Corps (ASVAT or ASVAD). Anyway, he scored as a Tier 1, Alpha (Tier 1 being the highest level and Alpha being the highest sub-level of Tier 1). He attributes it to TJYC. He said that there was a vocabulary section and he got almost all of them right and he knows that was because of TJYC. This score allowed him to choose the position with the Marine Corps that best fit his goals."
