All great leaders have four things in common:
1. A vision of how striving for truth can change the world
2. Commitment to fulfill their unique mission
3. Dedication to developing innate vital abilities essential to effective leadership
4. Passion to practice skills that extend their positive personal influence
These four keys—Vision, Mission, Abilities and Skills—create the Classical Leader.
These essential elements are being taught effectively by the Leadership Education Mentoring Institute (LEMI)*.
LEMI is dedicated to helping parents and mentors desiring to become virtuous leaders. This is best done through studying the lives and works of the great historical figures. Vision grows from the insights gained in the quiet moments when students ponder the missions of other great men and women who have gone before. Then, as we believe the quiet, persistent thoughts that continually tell us we can become leaders with courage and goodness, God guides us to our missions. In order to make a positive difference in the world, we need to pay the price to develop the abilities and skills necessary for greatness.
In ages past, the ideas of the great thinkers such as Cicero, Socrates, and Shakespeare have been the common thread shared by great classical leaders. Society is on the edge of either losing the thoughts that fashioned such leaders as John Adams, Abraham Lincoln and Gandhi or returning to the lost art of mentoring both public and private virtue.
Come be a part of the growing movement to build great mentors and Liber Communities. We are reaching this goal in communities across the continent. We can reach this goal in your community with your help. Commit to become a LEMI mentor today.
