Every individual born to the earth has the potential for greatness. Who can dispute the greatness of Gandhi, George Washington, Mother Theresa? How did they become great and can weduplicate the process? In the book “A Thomas Jefferson Education” by Dr. Oliver Van DeMille these answers can be found. It begins with unique education - A Thomas Jefferson Education.
LEMI, Leadership Education Mentoring Institute, is an organization dedicated to the training of teachers in A Thomas Jefferson Education philosophy and methodology. Parents who see the superior value of providing AThomas Jefferson Education to their children will see much greater results if they and the teachers they use are properly trained as leadership mentors. LEMI is the only training company that trains leadership mentors how to bridge the gap between wanting an excellent broad liberal arts education and getting one. Training mentors in the leadership model is making all the difference!

LEMI is excited about the future of America and the leaders of tomorrow. Basically, that means American families.
We at LEMI have done extensive research and study on educational trends, systems, goals, methodology and philosophy. We would like to help parents and teachers change the direction of the future by providing education tools for families to provide leadership scholar education to their children.
We focus on the Scholar Phase years; the years between 12 and 17, when a youth should begin to gain a breadth and depth of knowledge from the classics.
Historically the family’s educational environment is the single biggest ingredient to a successful scholar phase. We want to help parents create an environment in which the classics are valued, read and studied and the family discussion is rich and meaningful. If mom and dad are on board, then so are the children! If mom and dad do Scholar Phase, so do the kids.
LEMI wants to help parents make the transition from our modern compulsory model of education to the leadership model by offering the following vital assistance:
• Scholar Projects
• Mentor Training
• Conference Call Mentoring
• Parent Seminars
• Community mentoring for the creation of New Commonwealth Schools
• Publications vital to the philosophy of the leadership model
The Ladder to Greatness
What is a leadership education? Being mentored through the liberal arts as well as being mentored in a profession in order to follow a Statesmanship path.. (A Statesmenship path applies to all focuses of life, not just government service.) There are four key elements in a leadership education that follows the Statesmanship path. Anyone who skipped the liberal arts part and only focused on the profession part, is lacking in these four vital elements to reach success. Incorporating these four vital elements into their education is what the great people of history did in order to fulfill their unique mission with wisdom, compassion, and effectiveness. Now the youth of 21st century can acheive the same results. LEMI has grouped the for vital elements into the Scholarship Ladders™. The Scholarship Ladders are:
1. Vision
For students to “do” scholar phase well, they need:
• to know what Scholar Phase looks like and have a vision of what it means to be educable.
• have a vision of Statesmanship, a feeling of duty toward family, community, country, and God.
2. Mission
In order to "do" scholar phase students need to:
• realize their own personal potential and unique talents
• have a sense of personal mission - something unique to them - something they want to do, feel compelled to do
Mission takes place between students, the classics, and often their parents and God. The teacher can’t give it. It’s come from the insights that come in the quiet moments when students ponder the missions of other great men and women who have gone before them. It comes because students believe the quiet persistent thoughts that continually tell them they are worth something and can become someone of courage and goodness.
In order to make a difference in the world for good, they need to learn how to become a self motivated scholar in order to grow the abilities and skills necessary for greatness.
3. Ability Development
The famous musician and teacher, Suzuki, says, abilities are developed by doing something over and over again until it becomes natural.
There are several abilities, common among successful people, that are missing in the mediocre crowd. These abilities are taught to our students. If you would like to know of some of these abilities and what they are, attend our seminar Mentoring the Hero Generation.
4. Scholar Skills
Scholar Phase can’t be done without
scholar skills.
